The talented actors, musicians and dancers from Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts will stage The Boyfriend: A Celebration of the Simplicity of the Twenties in November.

Writer Sandy Wilson`s hot-cha score ranges from foot-tappers like "Won`t You Charleston With Me?'"and "Perfect Young Ladies" to tender ballads like "I Could Be Happy with You," "A Room In Bloomsbury'," and, of course, "The Boyfriend'."

The academy's young actors, dancers and singers invest this time-tested tale of boy meets girl with verve and excitement. It's quite irresistable.

It is directed by Wendy Marks. The musical director is Zenobia-Brown Brokenbraugh. The Choreography is done Jacque Dake.

The Boyfriend can be seen at the Marysville Community

In an open letter John Nicoletti encourages those who know Jaynie White -- who played "Rose" in Ponderosa Theater Company's "Gypsy" -- to support her in her battle against recently-diagnosed pancreatic cancer.

White, recording artist, stage actress and community activist is now undergoing a difficult regimen of chemo therapy, but is reportedly in good spirits and fighting bravely.

In his fund-raising letter, Nicoletti is somewhat vague in his description of where money raised in an Oct.. 2 benefit for Jaynie will go, but Linda Plummer clarified the destination.

"Funds raised will go to offset the many medical-related expenses her health insurance does not cover," Plummer said.

"She has to keep her house germ-free. Every time she goes to the doctor there are child care costs. Every doctor's visit she has to pay a deductible. These and other things aren't covered -- and they add up," Plummer said.

Dear friends,

When you love somebody; you tell them. Sometimes often, sometimes not
enough. But you always have the opportunity.

Recently, our friend Jayne White was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Her
commitment to healing is very strong. One of her first reflections on
dealing with cancer was that she was not going to leave her newly
adopted three children.

One of my first reflections on Jaynes fight was how many worthwhile
endeavors she has been associated with. Through the joyful and healing
power of her music, and her muse, she has touched individuals all over
the region.

Think of the volunteerism she's done in our community. Think of all that
Jayne has achieved in the name of support. Jayne has said "yes, I will
help you" to Casa De Esperanza, Senior Legal Services, Her Church,
Children's Health Fair, Local Schools, Cultural Celebration's Unplugged
event, Street Fairs, the Yuba-Sutter Fair, American Cancer Society, The
Chamber of Commerce, and many other groups in the name of making our
community and home a better place to live.

Jayne is gifted, and willing to share it. For years, Jaynie has stood
before us and performed for our pleasure.

Yes, I am going to stand before Jayne and I am going to help. In that
same spirit of love that she has helped so many causes - her deeds are
truly measurable.

Now this is Jayne's time. Help support an effort to say I LOVE JAYNE.
