A casting call is out for "Epic Proportions," a play to be staged at Yuba Community College Theater, with David Wheeler directing.

Details of the play itself are sketchy, but there are seven to eight roles available for men and women, according to YCCT spokeswoman Anabel Toche.

Judging by it's title it's probably a comedy and perhaps about Hollywood, or medical protheses, or dwarf throwing in Australia, or all three -- depending on your sense of humor.

Then again, it could be just another "coming of age" story revolving around rebellion and rejection, love and zits, and not be funny at all.

In any event, auditions for "Epic Proportions" are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 20-21 at the YCCT at the center of the college capus on North Beale Road.

The auditions are open to the public. Actors need not be students at the college, Toche said.
